I recently finished up a project where I heavily used VS Code for JavaScript development. I am writing up several short blog posts on development issues, ideas and techniques that helped me out. Here’s the first and it is probably the shortest!

Ctrl+G!

That’s it! Ctrl+G. It is a keyboard shortcut in VS Code that allows you to very quickly navigate to a particular line number in the file you’re working on.

This is especially handy when debugging errors in the browser and you needed to jump to a particular line of code to check on or fix something.

Lucky you if you know this one already, but it was new to me and I’ll be definitely use this going forwards!

For reference, here’s a PDF of VS Code shortcuts.
